The weapon crafting and dual-frame structure is a neat feature, but is easily broken. Weapon balancing is fucked, enemy stagger is fucked, stasis nerfed to shit, a preponderance of bland new enemies like feeders, progression is arbitrary and nonsensical, side missions really aren't worth exploring, a dodge roll and crouch function that are both out-of-place and worthless, suits are purely cosmetic with no unique bonuses, characters make ridiculous decisions, super trope-heavy dialogue, weird logic jumps and plotlines. A lot of that hate is rightfully directed at the way they implemented microtransactions, which is why that fad has been thoroughly defeated in time for the next generation of survival horror games likes Callisto and the DS Remake.īut even outside of the MTs, Dead Space 3 did a lot wrong. I've played it enough to admit it's not the worst thing in the world, but I think it gets an appropriate amount of hate, which is good. I definitely agree Issac had a satisfying ending. The previous games were pretty short on easier difficulties or if you just avoided encounters.
